Our first review

From Rock Festival at Yuppies Bar, Dundee, 1st July

Intro/Fade-Out immediately got your attention by virtue of an opening number that sounded like commercial UK indie grunge with a pretty thunderous sound coming from the band. Short, incisive and a good full sound. The second track was more bluesy, but still powerful, with a solid guitar lead, quite low but equally powerful vocals, catchy without being obvious, backed and driven by riffs and rhythms of a very insistent nature. Third track was slower, this time with a second lead guitar, one that solidly built into a corker of a potential album track in a kind of restrained indie-meets-aor style. The fourth track accelerated things with a stomping rhythm, the lowish vocals and some searing lead guitar work mid-song as the solo blasts out. They finished the set with a cover of Eurythmics "Sweet Dreams". The only question you'd ask here is "why?" Their own songs more than stand up to an unfamiliar audience and actually sounded better than the cover. No need, guys - drop it! But, overall, very enjoyable, strong and worth a second look sometime.
